What Tellalong is
Tellalong ("we", "us") is a marketing tool for small businesses. You give us information about your business (a website URL, or answers to a short questionnaire); we use it to write and schedule social media content, and to publish it to the accounts you connect, with your approval.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
- Business information — what you tell us about your business: website content you point us to, questionnaire answers, offerings, brand colors and logo, and anything you write to correct the brief we generate.
- Connected platform access — when you connect Instagram, Facebook, or another account, we store only what's needed to publish on your behalf (an access token and the account's display name), not your platform password.
- Content and performance — the posts we generate, your edits and approvals, and engagement metrics (likes, comments, reach) the platforms report back once something is published.
- Attribution data — when someone clicks a Tellalong short link from one of your posts, we log the click and a coarsely hashed visitor identifier (never a raw IP address or user agent) so you can see which posts actually drive traffic.
- Usage and billing — how many posts, briefs, and regenerations your account has used against your plan, so we can show you an accurate "posts left this month" balance and bill correctly.
How we use it
Business information is used only to generate and publish content for your own accounts, and — in aggregate and anonymized form only — to improve the benchmarks that help every customer's strategy start smarter (never another customer's content or identity). We never sell your data, and we never use it to train models on behalf of a third party.
Third parties we share data with
We use AI providers (Anthropic, and an image generation provider) to generate copy and images from your brand brief, and the social platforms you explicitly connect (Meta, Google, and others) to publish on your behalf. Each only receives what it needs to do that specific job.
Your controls
You can disconnect any platform account, edit or delete a brand, and export your data at any time from the dashboard. See our data deletion page for how to remove your account and everything tied to it.
